Great book hunting in Jimbo-cho, Tokyo, the largest district of used book stores in the world. I got a rare version of Brautighan’s Watermelon Sugar and Ginsberg’s poetry book. So happy!
We had the Hatsugama tea ceremony, the first and most festive presentation of tea in the New Year, in our tea house. Over 800 guests will be invited and offered Kaiseki cuisine as well as thick and thin tea for the next 5 days. It’s a great event but a little chaotic. We must use walkie talkies during everyday operations…
returned from Ishinomaki on early morning today. we have been assisting and helping the soccer event featuring a member of Japan national soccer team and J-leagers. i also had a chance to serve a bowl of tea for young and adults that was my most pleasure moment. It is incredible that the people of Tohoku made a lot of progresses in order to rebuild the town. Thanks to Aki and Miura-san, Fujita-san and Matthew for giving me such a great opportunity. i’ll be back soon!
I’m in Japan. The last day of 2012, early-morning visit to Samukawa shrine with my mom. Hope you all have a great day and a warm New Year’s Eve!
Merry Christmas everyone. I’ve been working very hard on finishing up a number of projects and artworks the last couple of months since my last show, Nuit Blanche. I stepped out from my house this morning and saw a whole white world. Yes, it realized me that today is Christmas day. Every day is a new day, but this Christmas day. Close my eyes like a sleepy cat on the velvet couch. I just want to listen to the sound of fallen snow.
“5 percent is the plan and 95 is the execution”
I have been up and drawing like a darkhorse and it’s actually 5 a.m. I was so lonely, but I’m happy now because I’ve got people in my life that love me, and I realized that I’ve been working toward my dream job -full time artist- for 14 years now!
I got to keep on walking on the road with a bag full of dreams!
To me, collecting Richard Brautigan is finding unseen landscape. There was a river, creek and dumb old lawn for revenge I’ve never seen.

I’ve been spending my time to taking photographs with those musicians for the last 4 weeks. 6 concerts within 4 weeks was not easy task for me, but I found myself really enjoying this whole musical journey. Some say, why I am doing this? what’s the purpose of using photos? I understand people wondering why I’m into photographs lately. I honestly got no proper answer for these questions like a kid has no reason to collect toys. One thing I can say is that all the creative process goes like this -start with no reason, even don’t know what I’m looking for.
Just back from a spectacular 3 days canoe trip in the Frontnac. Great scenery, great water, great food and great conversation with my buddy S.L. – but just being there was awesome.
