I returned from work after 30 hours of shooting documentary film.

Some might say it is not a documentary, or a movie. It is actually more like a real documentary about Japanese female contemporary dancer based in Toronto. We filmed twenty-four straight hours in the morning from 10AM Friday until 10AM Saturday capturing all her activities over the day.

Twenty-four hours straight shoot,
no creative story-telling, narrative, or staging,
non-fictional, “slice of life” factual works of art.
This is a kind of documentaries I really wanted to make for a long time and now my dream had come true. To all of my crew, thanks for all the hard work, commitment and for going along for the ride. You guys are the best!

I am honor to be a part of “8 Songs for Fukushima” as an art director. It’s a charity compilation album for Japanese earthquake relief with a group of world-class artists who have banded together for this extremely worthwhile international cause. Today I had a meeting with producer George Koller who has also produced the World Jazz For Haiti charity album in 2010 and discussed about the meaning of the album title, concept of an artwork for cover jacket.

After the meeting, he gave me his CDs. I was impressed with his expansive musical career. George is probably best known as bass player for Holly Cole trio but he plays a variety of instruments which featured on his award-winning solo albums. He has accumulated hundreds of wildly diverse performing and recording credits.
